Mark Taylor

about me

Hi, I'm Mark Taylor and I'm a Senior Business Analyst. In my spare time, I enjoy web development and just about anything that requires working with my hands or learning something new.

Early in my career I worked for an Operations Manager who liked to test me. He would ask questions that he knew I didn't have an answer to, just to see how I would find the solution. I enjoyed the challenge but, more importantly, I realized that the best thing I could do for myself, professionally and personally, was to pursue a lifetime of learning.

I didn't go to college for computer science, but I was always interested in technology. I found the art and science of coding interesting, tinkering with various languages here and there with no real goal in mind yet. That was, until I began teaching myself VBA at work so that I could automate tasks for my coworkers. After gaining some experience with it and having a lot of fun, I decided it was time to get serious and really learn to code. I began teaching myself HTML, CSS and JavaScript at night and on the weekends. After a few months I had built a mixed bag of skills including HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, jQuery, Bootstrap, PHP and MySQL, to name a few. Here, you will find some of my projects.
